I read this to help with my Spanish and getting more comfortable reading the language. In that respect it was useful, the language wasn't too complex and it was around the level I wanted. In regards to the plot it wasn't bad as long as I kept in mind that this was geared towards children.

Welcome to Goosebumps!

I, shockingly, did not read the ORIGINAL Goosebumps book back when I was in elementary school. We didn't have this one in our collection, which is a bummer. Regardless, that means I got to read a "new" Goosebumps book that I haven't read before. And it's a solid read for the first book that started the series. It's not the best, but I like it. It's an interesting take on the town, but left me with a lot of questions about how people are moving into the Dead House...

For a ghost story, it's a fun read. Maybe not the book to get started on Goosebumps if you want to get really excited about the series, but nice to read as a middle grade, horror book.

Three out of five stars.

Honestly 4.5, but the ending is open-ended and I normally hate that, but this was not a scary open ending, it was a moment of full circle, not so full I guess. I needed an audio to stay interested in the early stages, but I binged the last 46 percent.

very fun and quick read as always with the goosebumps series. I loved this one too, it left me a bit puzzled at the end which I loved! and although I could anticipate some things from chapter to chapter, the ending was still quite a surprise. reccomend.

Listened to this one on audio and read along with the paperback. I liked this one but it wasn't as thrilling and fun as some of my favorites. It was alright. :) - Richard
