4.23 AVERAGE

Let me start by saying this is not the best Percy book, which was to be expected as the book is filling the gap between Heroes of Olympus and Trials of Apollo. That said, I have decided to rate this book with a solid four stars.

I felt so incredibly happy while reading the Chalice of the Gods. The golden trio back together after so long, the domestic scenes at the Jackson-Blofis apartment, the percabeth content, and of course the insane amount of references to the previous adventures... I just felt so much nostalgia while reading, I smiled all the way through! This book is an ode to the PJO series and a toast to the future ♥

I think this might actually be my favorite one of the series.

Percy is a teen here, and you can feel it, the banter is a bit sharper, the humor is fucking hilarious I laughed a lot more with this book. The plot was good but the relationships built was even better.

I also cried harder than I ever have, this one resonated with me on a personal level as it was just the right time and right book(chapter).
I lost my grandmother 3 days ago to old age. Iykyk.  I had to close the book and aggressively sob for 30 min as I finally had her death put in perspective and I mourned what I never was to her. I saw her the day before she gave her last, and I feel horrible for never feeling more. And this book broke me completly apart. I have nothing good to say about the filth I have in my heart thanks to this. But I will cling to that chapter till I'm old and dusty (XD)

"old age is never embraced," he muttered. "Do you know the last time I had a hug?" He stared into the sky as if trying to remember. His sad expression reminded me of old people I'd seen in nursing homes, gazing into the distance, trying to figure out where their lives had gone, where their loved ones were, how they'd become so alone.

This book felt more evolved than the others, so much character development and deep rooted feelings of life. I loved it and I will engrave it in my soul.

On a lighter note fuck Zeus, god he's annoying. Disgusting beyond the normal god like yuck. I feel bad for the people suffering under him (Ganymede)

percy jackson never fails to be an incredible and entertaining time. this books still manages to capture a piece of that magic that the original 5 have and it absolutely warms my heart.

I loved this!! I miss percabeth, sassy percy, and my favorite trio!!

This was truly so good and it made me so happy

the chapter titles! we’re backkkk
