This may be one of the worst books I’ve ever read. I only finished it out of spite, but I don’t understand the use of the word “heck” if your characters are also going to sleep together. This was tedious, too. This book did not need to be 400 pages. The characters fell flat, the plot fell flat, and tbh whatever card game Albert has come up with sounds stupid. Just let your characters play a real game like MTG or YGO. Felt like a YA book in the worst way possible.

I genuinely enjoyed this. Possibly more than Out of Character. I especially loved that there was not third act break up between Milo and Jasper. Truly hoping that Annabeth Albert comes out with another contemporary romance.

This is a follow up to Conventionally Yours, and it is about a new couple. This had a very tender coming out plot line.

This was a very quick read despite how long it is and its the first "bully" to lovers I've ever liked but that being said, its way more old friends to tense peers to lovers. It pretty much skips over the new friendship and isn't really about the years of Milo being a jerk in high school.

Its definitely the same format as the first in the series but the characters are so different I didn't mind. I also prefer her YA/New Adult way more than her stuff marketed at Adults so I enjoyed this a lot

This was a fun read. I didn't like it as much as the first book though..

I think it's very unrealistic for a bully to turn 180 degrees in so little time.
Milo really went from 'hey sorry I might have been a bit shitty' to self hatred and humility in 100 pages.
Also I'm not the biggest fan of 'I was in love with my bully and now he's gay too'? I did find the whole best friends - to bully - to lovers thing interesting. Certainly something I have never read before.

It is not a very realistic book but I guess it's nice to have a positive escapist story.

I like the idea of second chances and both mcs are really likeable and have great chemistry. Both being so likeable kind of put me of the story though because one of them is supposed to have been a bully but we never see that. We never get to know what he actually did only that he was very mean and the person who is actually in the story is extremely kind and sweet and I had a hard time seeing him as the bully. Also Jesper could be a bit annoying. Still enjoyable though.

I wanted to love this sequel as much as I did the first but I couldn’t see the chemistry between Milo and Jasper as well I had with Conrad and Alden. I thought this was a cute summer read and I’ll probably read more of Albert books, especially if she writes more in this series (maybe a story for the professors or April?). I wasn’t the biggest fan of the second half of the book though, because there seemed to be a huge emphasis on needing to come out to have your gay relationship be significant and that felt triggering to me but I guess to each their own.

I LOVED the two MCs even though one of the narrator's voices was a bit annoying. The story was sweet and I liked how it ended. Except for 1 part of the ending, I loved it! The MCs were relatable and I liked getting to know all the other character's better after the first book.
