Account of the siege of the Iranian embassy in London to make a statement about Arabs in Iran. Well written and nicely read by author. Quite a bit of quoting vulgarity as the siege grew longer. Intended to be a 24 hour operation it ended up being six days and the relationship between captors and hostages became more complex.

Terrific stuff from Manintyre again, as you’d expect

Starts very slowly but then picks up pace. An intensely minute by minute retelling, forensic yet empathetic.

A riveting nonfiction narrative of a historical event that I'm ashamed to say I do not remember--the 1980 armed takeover of the Iranian embassy in London  by anti-Khomeini Iranian Arabs.  The story of this six-day siege, and its resolution, is fascinating.  And the ending is as tense and pulse-pounding as any thriller I've ever read.  An outstanding book.
