SMH. My American bubble was popped yet again with this book. As an anglophile and someone familiar with the Middle East, I'd never even HEARD of this crisis. I love Ben Macintyre's work so this was a super fascinating book that I started just off his reputation. Being too young when it happened and a lot of the historical oxygen of the period being consumed by the American embassy siege in Tehran, I'm just amazed that I knew nothing so this book and what transpired was just a revelation for me. I'm off to watch some videos of this that are apparently out there that I don't believe I've ever seen--I didn't cheat the ending by looking anything up online while in the middle of listening to it as an audiobook. I wanted Ben to guide me through the drama himself.
