This is a nice collection of stories. I enjoyed them all, but Secret Window, Secret Garden was my favorite.
medium-paced
This book of novellas was a slog haha

king's novella collections kick ass. i don't love the stories in here as much as the ones in different seasons, but they're all pretty fun rides.
the langoliers: this one's pretty freaky, and the strongest overall. some of the most dread i've ever felt reading a stephen king story, and the mystery of just what's happening is really engaging. also has an all-timer batshit crazy stephen king character
secret window, secret garden: maybe my least favorite, but the build-up is pretty good. john shooter's a fun antagonist.
the library policeman: i was pretty confident this would be my favorite, but i wasn't feeling so hot on it towards the end. something just kinda fell off? i can't really pin down what it is. this has maybe the freakiest imagery in any stephen king story, and one of the most difficult scenes i've ever had to read. i'm conflicted on this but i still think it's solid
the sun dog: the ending made me groan but the rest is good. pretty creepy idea at the core of this one
8/10
bonus dbd section: ardelia lortz as killer, mort rainey & a slightly aged-up kevin delevan as survivors, bangor airport as the map. honestly just get the airport in, replace the endgame collapse with the langoliers coming in, and have the sound of them eating get progressively louder as the match goes on, banger map

this is a way better version of the dark half, so take that for what you will.the library policeman: i was pretty confident this would be my favorite, but i wasn't feeling so hot on it towards the end. something just kinda fell off? i can't really pin down what it is. this has maybe the freakiest imagery in any stephen king story, and one of the most difficult scenes i've ever had to read. i'm conflicted on this but i still think it's solid
