The worst overall King book I've read so far.

I admittedly have a huge soft spot for The Langoliers due to it just being so endlessly goofy. The Sun Dog is likewise pretty good, it's the other two novellas in the collection that REALLY don't work that well.

Secret Garden, Secret Window is really good up until the ending, it ruins all enjoyment of the story due to how stupid it is. The ending is set up but in a way that I was really yearning for it to be a red herring.

The Library Policeman is an absolute mess, it completely transforms into a different story halfway through and includes a really traumatic sexual assault scene that I don't think is earned.

Four Past Midnight did not disappoint. The tales are creepy, enthralling, and so well paced. While "The Langoliers" and "Secret Window, Secret Garden" may get all the attention, "The Library Policeman" and "The Sun Dog" are excellent tales that are perfectly creepy.
