A fun read with a cool concept and good dark atmosphere but suffers from all the same issues that afflict most Romantasy: underdeveloped characters and the classic tall, dark, brooding love interest whose only personality trait is “concerned for the main character” Engaging enough for me to read the second one.

An enjoyable, gothic read. I really enjoyed the story, the concept of magic in this and the characters all I would say is it felt like it ended unnaturally and could have gone on longer.
