Amo Dostoevskij eppure questo libro inizialmente non mi aveva preso per nulla, tanto che finita la Parte 1 lo avevo abbandonato.
Poi però mi ha come chiamata e fortunatamente l'ho ripreso in mano, senza più riuscire a staccarmi dalle pagine. Non posso davvero aggiungere nulla a quanto è stato già detto sulla grandezza di questo romanzo, su come i personaggi siano incredibili, su come questo autore riesca a scandagliare la psiche umana come nessun altro.

Truth be told, this book was a bit rough to get through at times. I am used to books with a few more line breaks than Dostoevsky tends to put in his writing, so there were points where I felt like it dragged on. The characters were also pretty complex, though they definitely all fit certain high-society stereotypes. Altogether though, the book was quite enjoyable.

Anyways, this was my favorite excerpt from it:
"Let us not forget that the reasons for human actions are usually incalculably more complex and diverse than we tend to explain them later, and are seldom clearly manifest."
