i wanted more from this. it needed a better editor i think, too rambly.

Julia Fox is such a fascinating person.

3.5 despite DNF (minor spoilers)
It was a bit too trauma-repetitive for me, no fault to Julia, it's her life. I just didn't want to continue reading about her making poor choices over and over and being exposed to pedophiles and abusive boyfriends and toxic friendships. She seems detached from it, that's survival I guess.
The lack of self-reflection was irritating. I do love Julia's attitude though, especially now (and rebellious women generally), and she's sure lived through some traumas.
I will say that it would have been easy to continue reading as the writing was good, but it was a downer - I may continue reading another time, who knows?
Interesting memoir even without that element (from what I read) and definitely has lots of tea and personal details. Doesn't disappoint in that respect.
I do wonder if the book gets to the part in her maturity where she explains how she fought for her success, fame, and get away from addiction etc. - but from other reviews that's not really the vibe of this book or her other writings.
Favourite moment was when she got slapped in the Vatican next to the Pope's open casket. There are a number of funny moments like that.
How can Julia remember all these decades old conversations verbatim as if they just happened? I can't remember conversations verbatim that happened yesterday.

i have so much respect for this woman
