Welcome to Seconds!

Chef (aka main character): Katie
What's on the menu: Fun is on the menu with a few sprinkles of darkness!
Seconds was a really good graphic novel. The artwork was fantastic and I loved the colours! The characters are portrayed like cute chibi characters which might generally make one think this is meant for a younger audience but worry not for this novel is meant for all ages and the characters are older than how they look!
Katie wants to open a new restaurant but things aren't going so great for her. She's making a lot of mistakes, hurting a lot of people and she just wishes she could go back and change her mistakes. And how lucky she feels when she finds a house spirit in her house! All she has to do is write down her mistake in a particular notepad, eat a mushroom and BAM! Whatever she wished had happened instead would replace her mistake.

But like ever typical person with something magical, Katie gets addicted to this routine of writing down her mistakes and eating mushrooms and BAM! Her mistakes gets corrected.

And she has no clue how her past gets corrected or what exactly happens. It just gets corrected the way she might have wanted.
She wants her old boyfriend back - BAM! - He's back.
And like that, she keeps eating mushrooms and keeps correcting her mistakes which angers the house spirit (too much of anything is good for nothing) and also without Katie's knowledge something dark and gritty is being created because of her adventures with magical mushrooms.
So, basically what this story is trying to tell is you can't change whatever that has happened and you need to move on and not make similar mistakes. This graphic novel was just fun but nothing more. I wasn't emotionally connected to the characters or the story. I mostly kept reading this because of its artwork which again, is absolutely fantastic!
If you're looking for something quick and fun and engaging, you should pick this one up! And do choose the hardcover edition because it is extremely gorgeous!

I really really enjoyed this.
It's a plot that has been done many times before but the makers of this reqally did give it a whole new vibe. I loved the whole 'talking to herself' bit, it made for the most humour. I just really liked the plot and enjoyed the graphic novel overal a whole lot.
Definetly recommend this one!

It was interesting overall. But I couldn't vibe with the art style and the story seemed too stretched out. Just meh basically
