Read this when it came out and honestly didn’t remember a single thing from it except from the passage abt baby Declan preventing mor and neil from killing ronan. Really enjoyed the mor and neil chapters… him choosing to forget Declan’s birth because it “made him so happy he could die” kills me 💔💔. Welcome to the Declan lynch show. Love the characters too much to give anything under a four but the plot kind of fizzled out for me. Matthew’s crisis is solved bc he had a chat with bryde? And bryde sort of just becomes this nothing character after playing such a central role? Encounter with Nathan left something to be desired… just felt anticlimactic (also big bad was an Arab that used bombs to kill…). Felt rushed but also like nothing happened? ALSO mor and fake neil living in the barns after everything??? What?? In what universe would ronan not kill himself over this?? Just got mad again.
Loved Hennessy’s character development - being able to defeat the lace and help others (save adam) - antithesis to her at the beginning of the trilogy. Made a copy of herself sans trauma and that copy ends up happy and fulfilled…. Much to think abt.
#problematicopinion but Matthew should have stayed dead… felt like everything was too easy, no stakes if everyone ends up being fine (bryde dies but who gaf).
Ok Bryde as a manifestation of ronan’s depression (as said by Matthew) and he dies(?)… so ronan conquers depression lol.

honestly these kinda sucked and ruined a lot of the stuff i liked about the raven cycle but oh well. teenage nostalgia will only get u so far

*Masterful. I mean, Stiefvater only gets better. Awesome end to an awesome series. Somehow gripping and interesting even through the parts where the characters aren't moving-- awesome world building, cool use of motif, hugely developing feelings, real as life. I love it.
