Celle-ci est ma première lecture de Simone de Beauvoir. Ce fut une rencontre très intime avec l'autrice, étant donné que ce sont des mémoires qui décrivent sa vie de l'enfance à l'âge de jeune adulte. J'ai adoré suivre sa trajectoire pour réclamer sa liberté intellectuelle puisque son émancipation est passée principalement par la littérature. J'ai aussi trouvé inspirant sa nécessité de s'exprimer par écrit. Je recommande vivement.

Esta fue mi primer lectura de Simone de Beauvoir. Fue un encuentro muy intimo con la autora ya que son sus memorias describiendo su vida de niña a joven adulto. Me encanto seguir su trayectoria para reclamar su libertad intelectual debido al echo que su emancipación se dio principalmente a través de la literatura. También encontre inspirante su necesidad de expresarse por la escritura. Recomiendo.

This is my first read by Simone de Beauvoir. It was a very intimate encounter since it’s her memoirs from childhood to young adulthood. I loved following her journey to claim her intellectual freedom since it mostly happened through literature. I also found very inspiring her necessity to express herself through writing. I highly recommend.

When the book started I fell in love with it, as a biography the way she wrote about her relationships, emotions, and thoughts resonated with me. As the book developed these descriptions felt more superficial to me, and I’m not sure if that’s Simone expressing that’s she’s become an adult whose childhood is now something fantastical, or whether she’s using her romanticisation of childhood to further her ego.

Simone erinnert mich in vielen Gedanken ihrer Kindheit und Jugend an mich. Das Gefühl, einzigartig und missverstanden zu sein, war mir sehr vertraut. Doch ebenso wie ich verlor sie diese naive Überheblichkeit mit der Zeit und wächst einem als Mensch Stück für Stück ans Herz. Man fiebert mit ihr mit und wünscht ihr, dass ihre Ziele wahr werden - selbst wenn man durch die Tatsache, dass es eben eine Autobiographie ist und man grob ihren weiteren Weg kennt schon weiß, dass es für sie gut enden wird.
Sie war eine schöne Seele und eine große Persönlichkeit. Danke für dieses Buch.
