The ending was so much different from the musical I loved it.

I didn't mean to read this book, it just kind of happened, and then I had to finish it.

I don't think I was the right audience for this book. It was juvenile and frustrating but for the character being in high school maybe it was accurate. The idea of swallowing a quantum computer pill that would make you say and do all the right things was intriguing but I just could not read on as the main character squandered the opportunity. I just could not really relate to the main characters. I only made it about 25% into the book but did not finish it.

Amazing book! I love both the musical and the book, but they are not the same at all! Two different stories beside the big facts of the plot.

I read this book bc of the musical ( let me say I have only listened to the soundtrack so if some of things I say about the musical are incorrect that’s why) and honestly the musical is better. The book was fine I enjoyed it but I was uncomfortable at the fact they use the r slur quite a few times and gay as an insult. Also they sexualized women more than enough times( although I thought Christine rejecting Jeremy was very empowering and her overall be clear that she wasn’t taking to pushiness) I get that it was 2004 but come on! I just feel as if it just another book about another horny boy, chasing after another basic girl. The reason that it was good was the ending and the rejection along with the dynamic of Jeremy and his suip.
