These keep getting a little better with each volume.

Following the same Cleric/Historian Chih, this story follows Chih and their companion, the bird named "Almost Brilliant" as they journey into the Riverlands to collect it's stories. It's a place of bandits and brigands where no kingdom can seem to maintain law or even a presence.

The prose is on par with the other stories in this series, it's just beautiful, and the characters of Chih and Almost Brilliant become more and more fleshed out with each volume.

This would really work as a single story rolled into 1 book.

I plan to continue the series.

This was such a fun (if fast) read and I can't wait to pick up the other books on the series. Cleric Chih is a great main characters and the stories were exciting!
