Better towards the end, but in my eyes not the strongest Colleen Hoover book (rather one of the weakest). I didn't like the female protagonist (Merit) very much at the beginning and the family drama seemed a bit exaggerated and too superficial because there are so many problems. I either couldn't take some aspects seriously, couldn't understand the characters' reactions or hoped that it would be taken up again at another point - but it wasn't, at least not in the way I would have liked. Even with the clarifications at the end, some situations are still too unrealistic for me. But there were some good passages and approaches (e.g. the subject of depression). Due to the multitude of entangled characters and the fact that Merit has to clarify something with almost every one of them, the depth has presumably been taken away somewhat. The love story was also rather cheesy and not as intense as I am used to from other books by the author. It's a nice book for in between, but it most likely won't stay in my memory for very long. The atmosphere was nicely described and you can learn something from the book, but I doubt I will read it a second time.
