The picture book version of the story of Paddington the Bear: how he was found and adopted by a loving family who take care of him EVEN THOUGH he causes loads of trouble!

This is a larger sized and fully illustrated book for children and the young at heart adult to read. The illustrations are so cute and fun to look at which was my motivation for reading them in the first place! Paddington is adorable in this series of books for kids who are advancing with their reading.

This book looks again at the story of Paddington coming to London as a bear on his own and unsure of what to do. The Browns see him at Paddington Station, hence the name they give him, and decide to take him home to stay with them for a few days. Of course, such an adorable bear has to become a full time member of the family when nobody can bear to part with him.

Somehow I've gone my entire life never having read Paddington Bear, and I'm really not sure I was missing much.

A good illustrated and abridged introduction to the Bear Paddington. He's just as outrageously clumsy and obnoxious (but oh, so well meaning!) as I remembered him. This book covers the first two chapters of the original story, published in 1958 and explains how he gets into the Browns' care. The illustrations are warm, cute and full of humor, very much in the spirit of the original.

Well written, cute illustrations, but plot line was uneventful. Regardless, my 4 yr old loves this book and has asked us to read it to him the past 3 days.

Just as good as I remember! For years, I've carried Paddington around in my heart (and his dislike for grapefruit), remembering my own plain blue hardbound copy that pre-dated my childhood. How refreshing to go back and read his adventures as an adult and find myself utterly tickled all the same.
