But all the same, I’ve not read such a powerful depiction of Victorian London since my last Dickens. The characters were astonishingly well written, and I honestly could not put this book down.
My only gripe is the ending! Way too much “telling” and not enough “showing”.

I have a huge issue with the word for fly larvae and this book mentioned it far too many times for me to be able to handle. Which is disappointing as I was intrigued by the plot, but I get incredibly itchy whenever said word is mentioned around me and it was just happening too much
