This was an enjoyable read, I have never read a CJ Box novel but I was glad I read this. I got this as a gift for Christmas and I couldn’t put it down once I started. The different storylines came together very nicely and the ending was ok. I felt that the conclusion was a little rushed, to spend 400 pages building up the action only to resolve it in one chapter made the ending seem a little too quick but I enjoyed reading the novel. Lots of interesting characters, I’ll definitely be picking up more of the Joe Pickett series.

Entertaining, very fast read, sort of predictable. Exactly like all the other Joe Pickett novels.
