JFC. This wasn’t a run-of-the-mill thriller at all. Reading this so soon after Prima Facie was hard as it deals with many of the same themes.

This books is infuriating, frustrating, and upsetting but so, so important. I liked the representation across the characters and thought the story itself was well-paced and well-crafted.

Rose Wilding is one to watch: I feel like this knocked me for six. It wasn’t what I expected at all and it’s one of the better thrillers I’ve read in recent memory.

I loved this! Probably a 5 star, until the end when it slipped down to a 4. Felt like it needed a little more drama or shock with the ending.
Loved all of the representation, made my heart happy.

For sure check trigger warnings before you go into this as it has a lot of difficult themes. I will also say that I read this in a day with a notepad to jot down character details and differentiate between them, which definitely enhanced my experience. I was worried that with 7 women, some would get lost, but generally I think they were fleshed out well and all felt truly flawed and real. I wasn't expecting the addition of Nova but it really brought it all together. I really can't wait to read another book by this author! Hoping for more feminine rage!

I feel quite conflicted by this book. On one hand, I liked the premise and the female rage that shines through. But on the other…there were too many characters to keep track of easily so you don’t get to know any of them in depth enough. The ending is really abrupt. Also Jamie, the murder victim/awful man, is like every bad attribute rolled into one.

His childhood is also portrayed as being absolutely terrible, Maureen his aunt and carer clearly resented him and treated him so poorly so her inclusion in the story is weird. And I felt like that element weakened the whole story by giving his character this more sympathetic back story which just isn’t needed, because men with stable home lives also go on to rape, murder and abuse. Idk, it felt a bit off.

When a man is murdered, which of the many women he's wronged is the killer? And will the policewoman go after her, or leave it to lie?
This was a dark book, but still good. It tackled many challenging topics and made many time jumps, making it harder to follow on audio. I didn't see the killer coming too far in advance. I loved the diverse cast, even if they weren't all likable. This was a solid book.
