Wow. Very different from everything else I’ve read by RH. I was actually enjoying this up until 75% and then I wan on the edge of my seat. That ending? Ok. Well done RH. I did not see that coming at all.

"App" from Rayne Havok keeps the punches coming with this Black Mirror-esque gem. An absolute thrill ride with enough of a twist to give you whiplash. Spot on!

A short story about a girl, named Salem, and a guy, named Kyle, who meet through a dating app.

During there date Salem goes to the bathroom while Kyle orders them another round if drinks. He slips some pills into hers and when shw us groggy enough he hails them a cab and they go to her place. By the time they are at her house she is completely unconscious and unresponsive except when he makes her orgasm...
Turns out they met through a date rape app and she us excited and turned on when he sends her a recording of what went down while she was drugged and unconscious.

Salem and Kyle match on a dating app one Tuesday night. She is excited for the date, until she wakes up the next morning and doesn't remember a thing.

This is definitely not AS DARK as her other work, but still has some trigger warnings. Although extremely short coming in at only 37 pages, I was surprised by this book! I was not expecting the ending whatsoever... This is told in alternating POVs, which I thought brought an interesting take to this story. I've almost made it through this author's backlist and Rayne never seems to disappoint me.

Fun, fun, fun. The ending has me giggling.
I really shouldn't be giggling, but the ending caught me off guard.
