After reading books in the earlier Trylle series, I feel like I can definitely see some writer's growth in this series of books. The writer seems cleaner, and the plot devices are not quite so heavy handed. I don't love the series to the point where I am raving about it for everyone to read it, but I like it a lot. It's fun to read, the characters are interesting, and it keeps me invested to want to keep reading. If anyone has read the Trylle series, they should definitely get into these books too.

As soon as I finished the first book I had to know what happened next and this one was no different. Sometimes books don't always flow too well from one sequel to another, but this one does it flawlessly, as if you've just turned the next page in that first book. The tension building and thickening of the plot is done brilliantly, keeps the reader on their toes waiting to see what would happen next. Great sequel.

I really don’t know whose on what side ?

I just cannot anymore...........

I will not continue on with the series...........

I HAVE REACHED MY LIMIT!!!!!!!

This book, while entertaining, felt like a definite filler book. It was slow at times, but yet kept my interest.

And it left off with a huge cliffhanger! AGAIN!
ugh Hocking what are you doing to me?!

Please don't blow holes in my ship!

Ice Kissed spent a lot of time digging around for information. was not as good as the first book. It was still good but not that good. There was a long period in the middle where the story got very repetitive and boring. Bryn and Kasper just spent a long time looking for information so there wasn't a lot of action. This book got very political during that part so if you enjoy politics you'll like this. I am not a huge fan of politics so I was really bored. The ending definitely makes up for the boring parts, though! It was so action packed it got my heart racing.

I really liked this continuation. It was just really boring for a long time. Also, I wasn't a huge fan of the Ridley-Bryn romance for a long time which is super disappointing! I just got tired of all the 'heated looks' they exchanged. Thank God the beginning and end were better for them. So, basically, the middle is the weakest part (in my opinion) of the story. I still really recommend this series!

A huge improvement from the first one. Finally things have started happening. Was suspicious of everybody in this book. Still not enough Ridley time. Now that things are finally making sense I have a feeling the next book is gonna be a Rollercoaster ride. Here's hoping. 3 stars.

Good fantasy read

As someone who read Hocking's uncorrected proof of Switched, I am whole heartedly enjoying her grow as an author. This novel is a lovely follow up that offers just as much in the way of character development and perhaps even more in the realm of a strong female character who knows her worth, loves her job, and values her female friends.

Also, solid move with Ember. I love when I see LGBT in YA. Fiction is the doorway to understanding and you have to start early with the tough subjects to really fight how close minded the world can be.
