Simplistic story telling, packed with love. In There Was Still Love, Parrett explores family relationships, love, and the concept of home through the entwined narratives of one family in 1980's Prague. It took me a little while to feel drawn in by this book, as early on it is sometimes tricky to follow the family. At moments I wasn't sure who was narrating, which for me made the story feel distant and lost, but as the details come together and the structure of the family becomes clearer I found the story very easy to get lost in and a wonderful vehicle for reflecting on your own relationships.
