This book is the reason I fell in love with Pacat's writing. Like, can you imagine the audacity?
To write a whole ass book and then in book 2 be like - hey, loser, remember book 1 you've just read? Yeah, it was mostly a big pile of horse shit, now prepare yourself to relearning everything once again. Also, strap yourself in, because all this time we were at war, apparently.
What an icon!

Loved this! The slow burn continues and the end left me wanting more. I will definitely be picking up book 3! The only downside of this one was the middle pacing slowed down a bit. Lots of military camping. But it picked back up and was so worth it by the end.
Well written, finally a bit of romance but not without the signature risk of heart break. Soo good: political, world building and delicious slow burn romance.
Highly recommend this series to all brave enough to get past the hesitance.
