Pues resulta que no es tan difícil escribir buenos personajes con crecimiento, personalidad y relaciones que te puedas creer.

I totally loved this. It's a strange blend of battle tactics, swordplay, hijinks, and romance, which is 100% up my alley. It's twisty and funny and hard to guess what will happen. The characters are great, and are developed much more fully from the first book. I literally could not put this down, and I read it in one sitting.

Sidebar, but I love this idea that if lots of men were openly gay and it was totally accepted and normal in a military, what kinds of shenanigans would go on as far as romantic entanglements leading to treachery and intrigue. It's not like they have to work women into the story at all, they have all the drama right there, and the effect is interesting and totally unlike anything I think I've ever read.

I am so incredibly unwell

Reread, September 2025: STILL BANGS.

Original review, March 2016: I am a MESS OF EMOTIONS

I almost went 5 stars but I'm saving it for Kings Rising

I … loved this? I am shook (this is so brilliantly plotted, wow).

Lowkey judging myself for reading the sequel to a book that scarred my soul. :)

So many opportunities for the truth to be revealed so i was a little annoyed about that because i feel like drama/ misunderstandings that will probably happen in book 3 could have been avoided but
THE ENDING WAS ABSOLUTELY FIRE
