I almost gave up on this series a few times early in this book as the tension grew and the drama dragged. But interesting new characters and a new moment in the plot arc have me at least considering book 3.

2nd Read: Still 4 stars. I almost wish these books had been written 10 years later so they would have been a trilogy instead. The first and second books could easily have been combined into 1 book. There's a long section in the middle that's pretty slow, but I'm excited to move onto the 3rd book again.

This book was definitely a good follow up to the first book. I’ll absolutely be continuing the series, but I did have a hard time reading everything in big chunks. The last 80 pages were really what got me going.
