Nevio Falcone is absolutely insane. If you’ve read Cora’s previous books surrounding the Camorra, you’d think no one could be more insane than Remo Falcone. But I’m here to tell you that you’re wrong, because his son is insanity on steroids. I loved Nevios character. At a certain point I was convinced I hated him, but he grew on me- as the bad boys always do! Nevio is obsessive, he is dark, he is protective, he is a hunter, and once he’s got his eye on the target… he won’t let go.
Nevio plays this tug and push game with Aurora and this poor girl has to put up with him! Aurora is everything her name claims her to be. She is loving, kind, and has a big heart. She is just.. such a lovely girl. And of course, she falls for Nevio knowing what an absolute heartless psychopath this man is! And what does Nevio do? Breaks her damn heart! To top it all off, the stuff he puts Aurora through absolutely enraged me!!!
I love the rollercoaster of emotions this book brought me. I don’t cry over books, rarely ever. But I have to admit, this book had me BAWLING by the end. The emotions, the hardships, the heartache, the Falcone family banter, the overprotective Fabiano (Aurora’s father), the spice (OH MY GOD THE SPICCCEEE!!!) all of it came together so well. Hands down one of my favourite books by Cora.
