This was my first Claire Cain and won’t be my last one! This is the 1st one in the series.
Nikki lives in California and is a math genius. Her great-aunt Rosie asks her to move back home to Silverton, Utah. Nikki was in a place in her life where moving would be welcomed.
Bruce Camden is the smoking hot ax welding, retired special ops military soldier who works for a security company. Bruce is not only a military hero, he is also the legal guardian of his much younger sister.
Very swoon-worthy without all of the spice.
While this book is free-standing, you get introduced to a cast of amazing characters. Strong men and women characters that you want to see succeed.

“The problem with this heart of mine was that once someone owned it, they owned it. I didn’t give it all that freely, but once given, I’d never have it back.”

It’s always a great day when Claire Cain releases a new book, and I couldn’t love this one more!

Bruce Camden is the perfect book boyfriend! He’s a retired special ops soldier, gorgeous, caring, and incredibly protective. He’s an amazing brother and guardian to his younger sister Kiley.

He’s dated a lot but never given his heart away, until Nikki. When they meet, he knows that she’s it for him. I loved how he was all in with her, and so open about his feelings. No game playing and no miscommunication.

Nikki had a rough upbringing, living many years in foster care, until Gram found her. She’s got some emotional scars, but she knows that in Bruce she’s found someone who will “stick.”

Gram and Kiley are fabulous secondary characters! Gram is a hoot—an unapologetic matchmaker, and she has no qualms about admiring Bruce as he frequently chops wood without a shirt on.

Kiley’s teen voice and angst was spot on—she’s tough and yet vulnerable, and so likable.

The romance between Nikki and Bruce was swoon-worthy. Their connection, the intensity of their feelings, and the obvious way they were made for each other leaps from the pages. There were several parts I had to reread—it was JUST SO GOOD!!

This is book one in the Veterans of Silver Ridge Series, and one I highly recommend!

In Made for You, a fresh start in a small town seems perfect for our math genius heroine Nikki, especially after a life upheaval. But everything changes when she meets Bruce Camden, her Gram's handsome next-door neighbor, and a retired special ops soldier. Despite their intense chemistry, Bruce sets boundaries, offering her a job at his private security company. As they work together, she can't help but be drawn to his dedication as a guardian to his younger sister. When a crisis hits, the true test will be whether their budding connection can withstand the storm.

Since I love books with military/ex-military heroes, I loved this one as well! As the first book in the Veterans of Silver Ridge series, it's the perfect introduction not only to the town of Silver Ridge but also to the characters featured in the series.

Although it was a clean, closed-door romance, it had plenty of heat aided by healthy, adult communication between the two MCs. And the neighbors-to-lovers pairing and small town setting (with plenty of meddling townspeople) made it all the more better.

Tropes:
-small town
-closed-door
-ex-military MMC
-STEM FMC
-single guardian
-neighbors
-meddling grandma

Kiley and Marcus are gonna be okay! They have good heads on those teenage shoulders.

I picked this book up at a local author signing and enjoyed it! Our characters had some depth and past traumas that made them feel realistic. I loved that Bruce cared so deeply for his younger sister who he is a guardian for, it was sweet. Nikki was new in town and I liked seeing her find new friends outside of Bruce. Overall it was good, just a little forgettable for me. I would read more from Claire Cain.
