There are a lot of books in this series (seven), so I might see myself getting tired of it at some point, but for now, I'm still enjoying it. Now that we know who Warner and Adam are to each other, now that Juliette is stuck in the middle, things are far more complex and interesting. I wish, however, Juliette was less self-loathing and more confident of her choices. I think Mafi does a good job of explaining why she is the way she is, but it doesn't make me like her more. If anything, it siphons off more of my patience with her. Then I have to remember she's only 17.

Still question the sexual maturity of 17-year-olds, but at this point, I am ready to accept that I'm an old fuddy duddy on this topic (only because I know how little I was interested in sex at that age and that even when I was interested in it, it was never this hot or imaginative).  There isn't a lot of sexual content in here, but what's there feels more adult than is appropriate - in language and in action. 

 Definitely good movie potential someday.

For everything I love about this book and this series, I hate an equal amount. 
While I love the emotionally driven story aspects, sometimes there’s so much feeling but not much reflection or action as a result of the feelings. 
Sometimes the intense and emotional conversations are just so well done and other times, they are hard to get through.
When Kenji told Juliette

that she needed to stop feeling sorry for herself and look around at the war happening

, I was screaming in agreement. 
I’m so 50/50 with this book, but I am invested and do like it more than I don’t. It just takes me a while to get through it bc I get annoyed with Juliette so easily. I adore the other characters. 
I will be reading the next one but not for a while.
