I have several complaints about this book:
1. There is a character named Emma in this universe. She is referenced once and otherwise never appears in the entire book. Y’all, it’s literally called The Emma Project - what freaking gives?
2. We did not spend nearly enough time with Esha and Sid. Their entire relationship was beautiful and pure and the highlight of the book for sure. So why exactly did we not get to go along with them on their Golden Gate Adventure?? Ugh!
3. Naina and Vansh alternated being utterly unlikable throughout the book. I didn’t like both of them at the same time until the very end.
4. We never find out what happened to Garuda!

This book is a fair, if rushed, ending to the Raje-Austen Universe. I just think Esha & Sid deserved more and better than 1 in 5 chapters and half an epilogue.

A really lovely end to the Rajes series. Out of all four of these books, I think this one is the least grounded in Austen (it truly is a loose, loose adaptation), but it's really cute and fun. Vansh is by far my favorite of the siblings. I loved that the dynamic was gender-flipped, though I wish there had been more of a Vansh and Naina having been friends before they got romantically tangled (but I guess given that Naina was in her whole mess of a relationship with his brother, I get why it's written this way. I think this is the funniest of the series, with Vansh getting most of the best lines.

Personally felt like the Esha - Sid B-plot should have been a novella or, like, an extra at the end of the book (I think just having them get together and have a bunch of hints would have been a stronger Jane Fairfax - Frank Churchill vibes that Dev was going for with them), but other than that, a fun ride.

I received an ARC of this book and was so excited. I loved the first three and this one did not disappoint. I definitely recommend as it ties up the series nicely.

Sex scenes are not F2B but limited in detail.

Content warning: Naina's father is physically and emotionally abusive. We aren't given an open door into his physical abuse of Naina's mother, but we know it exists. We see the damage his control and emotional abuse have on Naina and how it has shaped her life. The author takes good care of both women. But if this is difficult for you, take care.

The Emma Project by Sonali Dev is a very special story. It's a wonderful ending to the Rajaes series. You can feel the tones of Jane Austen's Emma throughout the book, but it's not a scene for scene retelling of the story.

Vansh emulates Emma, a wonderful gender bending twist to the story. Vansh is so open to the world. He believes there is happiness to be found anywhere, and he wants to do good. He makes mistakes, errors, but he apologizes and finds ways to make it right. Naina emulates Knightley, stoic, closed off, trying to keep everything together, and take care of everyone. Vansh and Naina are two pieces that just fit. I love seeing Vansh essentially knock his families heads together. They needed multiple talking tos to get out of their own way. Eventually, we get our Happy Ending!

And Oh My Stars we get Esha's story!!!!!!!
