*4.5 stars
Overall, I loved it. Brandon knows how to write an ending! Its fast pace and short chapters made it hard to put down. The action scenes were so well written, easy to follow, each offering something a little unique, and all the main characters got their awesome moments in that respect. I enjoyed the continued development/investigation of the magic system(s) too (though I still maintain Mistborn isn't my favourite magic system, clever, intricate and interesting though it is). The ending had an emotional impact on me that I wouldn't have expected, given that up to Bands of Mourning I hadn't connected very well with the characters. Steris, however, is probably my favourite female character that Sanderson has written.
I've read some reviews here of various ratings, and it's interesting how different people feel about the same characters or aspects of this series/book. I thought I'd comment on the aspects that seem to be the most divisive so as to convey where I stand.

Cosmere stuff

Wayne
Spoiler
I loved him when I first read the first three books and found him hilarious, but on reread he irritated me more, especially his sex-related jokes; I understand why some find him juvenile. But I view that aspect of him as being surface level, as partially a defence against his own pain, and partially (so he thinks) to cheer those around him. And so I love him as a character for who he actually is, and I did shed a few tears for him at the end (though I shed more when Steris received her letter from the Governor for some reason haha, that got me). Initially I was sad and wished he could've lived, but realised quickly that it was the perfect way for him to go, to finally be able to forgive himself and to prove himself. I also thought that the authorial voice in Wayne's POV chapters was written well, it made them stand out from other chapters and for me at least, was fun to read. Love his different 'hats' and how he could step so well into other characters' shoes (fictional or otherwise). So overall I did enjoy Wayne, and his relationships with the others.Cosmere stuff
Spoiler
Particularly the Ghostbloods, I've seen that some people had an issue with how much was piled into this book from the wider Cosmere, and that people thought it was overkill for Mistborn, that they prefer more mystery etc, and also that there's a little too much 'deus ex machina' at times. I do feel slightly that way, especially as it doesn't really make sense to me that Moonlight and co would reveal quite as much as they did to Marasi before she'd had a chance to agree to sign up. That said though, I lap up anything Cosmere related, and enjoyed the Ghostbloods - in fact I wish we could have a whole book or series focused on them (and if that was the case, I'd have been happy for them to have remained more in the shadows here than they did). I must admit that it was a bit of a letdown how little Kelsier was in this book in the end, because it really did feel like we'd been set up to expect more from him. However, for me personally, I was engaged enough and happy enough with what we got from everyone else that it didn't bother me too much - after all, this is Wax & Wayne's story. As for the few loose ends that haven't yet been tied up, that I've seen at least one review complain about (such as what might have happened to Bands of Mourning), that doesn't bother me either, because of course we have plenty more to come in this 'verse! That was obviously fully intended.

BANG BANG BANGER
My brain is fizzlin right now. So much to digest, so here’s what I’ll say.
Mistborn era two is such a satisfying evolution of the mistborn world. It expands on and surpasses the first three books in so many ways.
Incredibly excited to see how the world of Scadriel continues to evolve and it’s expanding role in the cosmere. Cannot recommend this series enough. The writing is mid as hell occasionally, but if you like pulpy fantasy, this is a must read.
Imma revisit this review later.
