This should have been a 4.5 star book. The climax was suitably satisfying, with the right level of tension and all of the established characters being well utilized. It should have been a great conclusion to the series.
Now, like, I understand that Sanderson is trying to make his stories into his own MCU. That's his right. He's free to do it. I just think it's a bitch move to make on of the major plots of book 4 of a series consist primarily of characters from elsewhere in his expanded universe. It was annoying enough to worry that he might pull that one me in book 3. Finding out I was just paranoid back then only to be slapped in the face with my concerns in the next book is downright rude.
I'm really so annoyed about this. I started with Mistborn because I heard it was not only one of his earliest works but also held up, and picked the sequel series to the one I read with the expectation that I would be good having read that one series and not that I would need to read mutiple other works of his set in multiple other worlds, which I have no investment in and was not intrigued by with all of the cameo characters. And if he was going to make it obvious in the first book that I was in for a crossover then I'd have been warned, but 75+% of the way through the series? And then the cameo characters are that important to resolving the major threat? Fuck off.
I'm docking this 2.5 stars because that's a shit thing for any extended universe to do to people who are dipping their toes in.

Probably my least favourite mistborn book, felt a little too long and a rehash of the others. Great characters and some good nods to the other cosmere books

Women are incredible and shoutout to Marasi and Steris for absolutely SLAYING their jobs. Also the sharing a beer moment made me cry just a lil bit. They’re so sweet in the most ridiculous way. Sazed’s hat and jewelry?!? Beautiful. So sad. But women served in this story regardless of what side they were on.
