Helpful overview but very short and a little shallow in spots.

A well researched and well presented book. Its focus, as you might expect, is largely on the style of items in the V&A collection. Still a good overview of the main styles of the period.

A pretty nice introduction, but could have been significantly expanded, especially for the price. Nice mentions of Silver and Agrippa; reliance on Talhoffer is a bit 'meh' for me, but the book was published in 2009 before I think some of the other manuals were widely available.
