Omg the smut was totally worth the listen. Plus Abby Craden has the voice of a goddess. Definitely worth a re-listen.

4 - The two main characters each have ther own burdens to carry. Both are able to communicate some of it and to work on themselves. The romance is fast, but very nice and believable - I root for them from the start. I just wish some of the side story and the character flaws would be developed a little bit more. The nosy neighbour Judy, the sober sister, the personal problems - it seems a little bit superficial - but maybe thats exactly the right amount for their story.

Lucy Bexleys writing style is noteworthy: frequently a single line of dialogue sparks entire paragraphs of internal ruminations. For me this puts a break on the plot I don't always like. Sometimes I want to skip all the thoughts right to the next line of dialogue to discover how the story moves forward.

Being the second book of her I read, I knew what to expect and was mostly okay with it.

I really enjoyed No Strings. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this one. I planned to not finish about a third of the way in, but then decided to just push through to the end.

The author/narrator coupling was interesting. I also liked how Reese’s preference for being alone was portrayed.

However, Arden is awful to Reese for almost the entire book, with minor reprieves while they’re sleeping together. Reese is a pushover for the entire book and is unhappy about it. We get to stew in her frustration with her.

True rating: 3.5 -- short, sweet, and steamy!

Not as good as I'd hoped it'd be. The writing is pretty dodgy, but it was cute. I enjoyed it but lowkey I think the best part of this book is the cover...

"It was oddly comforting, almost like Arden was hugging her but better because there was no touching"

I've never related so something more in my entire life
