Fantasy sci fi vibes, much better writing that twilight, devoured most of this in a day and really enjoyed even though it's not my usual thing!!
def kinda trashy tweeny, but enjoyable nonetheless. vaguely sparked some interesting thoughts about how you define "human" or "soul". a little long for a YA book though

So many plot holes. I started marking them in the margins. The final straw was the detail about stalagmites/tites in a lava tube. *sigh* Close book, throw in trash.

Underrated and full of potential. Itching for another book in the series!!
This book should be just as famous as Stephanie Meyer's other series, Twilight.
This book shows our world's future when alein organisms take over. The aliens use the human bodies as their own (the humans are "hosts", hence the title.)There are few humans without aliens in them left. Melanie is one of those few. She is captured, and she becomes a host.
With most cases, the human is completely gone and the alien controls the body. However, Melanie is still there inside her body, and the host, Wanderer, is disturbed when she discovers that her host is still there, talking to her, and wishing she was gone.
Though at some times confusing, The Host is a wonderful book. One complaint that I have, on the other hand, is that Wanderer is just as whiny and needy as Bella is in Twilight.
