I really enjoyed this book. At first I felt that it was difficult to get into but after the first 150 pages or so it definitely picked up and I did not want to put it down. Meyer did well with this novel but I felt that the writing style was very similar to her others and because of that I do not know if I would exactly categorize it as an adult novel. I also feel that even though I did like it and would recommend it to others; I enjoyed the Twilight series more. All-in-all it is a great book though.

This is my favorite book.  It’s my comfort book.  It gets back into reading when I’m in a reading slump.  I’ve read it over a dozen times.

Song: Soul Meets Body by Death Cab For Cutie - I have a whole playlist for this book on Spotify.

This book is trash why were the age gaps so dramatic

It was okay. It didnt ring as strong with me as I wanted it to.

I ended up liking this more than I initially thought I would; I liked the take on alien invasions and parasitic creatures, but something about the characters rubbed me the wrong way a bit. At least this was better than the awful film adaptation.

Surprisingly awesome.

This book makes the reader think about the human nature and brings out the positives and negatives of the human life. I loved this book for the length and depth of the story.

Always one for Sci-Fi over fantasy, and a lover of the dystopian too I wanted to give this book a chance. A breed of interstellar parasites have taken over nearly all the humans bodies on earth. Wanderer (Wanda) has been placed in the body of Melanie, one of the few surviving human rebels. She is tasked with helping to access Melanie’s memories in order to locate other rebels. However, when Melanie fights back inside Wanda’s head they develop a kinship and Melanie finds herself going rogue and wanting to protect the last remaining humans. This was a great premise for a book, but it was unfortunately about twice the length it needed to be and I found it very difficult to keep my attention focussed on it. There were very long chapters where not a great deal happened or it was just repeats of previous plot lines. I liked the main characters, both Wanda and Melanie, and the lead male characters, but I struggled to keep track of all the extra characters. I might try the movie to get a more streamlined plot. All the ingredients of a delicious read but unfortunately it turned out bland and overbaked.

Edit: I watched the film... I felt the same.

This book was great. There are a few things that were... not to my liking. The biggest one is that near the end Wanda gets put in another body which is 17(well 16 on the edge of turning 17), and she likes a guy who is in his late twenties, I don't know what to think of that.

After hours of trying to get past the first hundred pages, I give up. The problem with this book isn't the idea of alien planets ((spoilers I guess oops)) but the sheer lack of explanation. It's a mix of Ender's Game and Twilight and those two books clash awfully. I wish I had read it a few years ago when it came out, then maybe I would have been a bit more understanding of the language but nope, not now, and not in the future. Sadly, I think the plot would be interesting if I could actually read and comprehend what was going on.
