I enjoyed it, but I had a difficult time getting through the first 100 pages. Once the story picked up, my interest did as well. The ending was not predictable which I enjoyed. Some thoughts and ideas mentioned are still with me. I would recommend this book.

This was one of my favorite books growing up so I thought I would re-read it to see how it held up. Overall, I still enjoy the book as a whole and the main character Wanda is a very likable character. Her choices and grappling with feeling like she didn’t fit with either the souls or humans was a great story. On the other hand, I understand why this book wasn’t as popular as twilight. Melanie is such an insufferable character in the beginning. We get it, she loves Jared. Please don’t make it her whole personality though 😭 Also would have loved more chemistry between Wanda and her love interest as opposed to Jared

Loved it! I enjoyed this book more than her Twilight series, as a whole. It was a quick read because I couldn't stop reading once I started. (I would compare it to the first Twilight novel in that respect.) She seems to have a knack for writing very believable science fiction.

I never expected to actually like a book by Stephenie Meyer, let alone LOVE it. Color me astonished.

I'd really like to read more, and I am shamed that I let the non-horror show (where the hell are my bloodthirsty vampires? STILL ANGRY ABOUT THAT) that was Twilight get in the way of reading this.

I really liked this book. I loved the concept of the story and I feel like Meyer did a really good job at keeping it fairly interesting.

To be fair, I think I had some issues with the translation of this book. I feel that if I'd read it in English, my rating might have been higher.

Once again, the book discovers what the movie cannot. But how can a movie convey internal dialog? Progressing from animus, to understanding, then to respect and even love - Wanda & Mel explore the most intimate connection: knowing each other's thoughts and emotions.
I confess loving the escape of teenage discovery and romance. Don't let poor impressions of the movie dissuade you from a wonderful read. And get "Twilight" out of your head. This is something different.

I didn't want to like a Stephenie Meyer book, but what can I say? This book is somewhat entertaining and contains character development (better than Twilight, which has none). It's not "the great American novel," but it's not the worst either.
