Lots of chemistry, interesting setting (Ice Hotel in Sweden) but the connection between Alya Petrova and Henning Fischer (other than their physical attraction) seemed a little forced.

Both Alya and Henning have had traumatic events in their past...Alya with her ex’s actions and Henning’s (at the time, a police officer) due to a bust that went horribly wrong. Without giving the details away, Henning’s experience was far more horrific and took a much deeper toll on who he is now.

While not minimizing Alya’s struggles with her ex, Henning does and will always carry reminders of his past.

Is their connection more based on the fact that Henning, as a surveillance specialist with Blackmore, Inc., has been “watching over her” through Alya’s front hall security video system “giving her a boost of support on her weakest days” which has had the effect of them both feeling more familiar with one another?

Henning’s character was very enduring and sweet, always looking out for others. He was the star of the story!

I've actually liked this so much more than I believed I would.

This book is HOT. Spicy, steamy, you name it. It has some Beauty and the Beast undertones- which I've obviously LOVED but it is also very sex-centred- in a good way.

Of course, the plot is almost paper-thin as most of the action took place outside the actual book and we are only left with, ehem, the climax, but it was so enjoyable.

Nothing more I can say about it, other than what's revealed in the blob. Basically, it's a lot of fun packed in about 160 pages of pure smut.

Highly recommended as a great distraction during these long, long days of pandemic restrictions.
