Heartbreakingly beautiful. This story focuses on a Palestinian family spanning across generations and countries— from Palestine, Kuwait, Lebanon, France & the US. Each chapter is written from the perspective of a different family member— at times, delving into past memories (which is easy to follow). This book masterfully addresses unspoken grief, memory, and the impact of forced displacement. It also highlights the beauty and heartache of complicated family dynamics, especially that between a mother and her children. It’s easy to empathize with each character, making this a captivating read. I cried multiple times while reading this book. Highly recommend ❤️
