This book did not disappoint! She wrote it so beautifully and really did the historical aspects justice. I love how she has strong women roles!

2.5 stars. The characters were not well developed and the dialogue felt stilted as a result. But I enjoyed learning about that time in history.

This follows four different women through the Cuban fight for independence.  Grace is a journalist in New York, Marissa is the wife of a resistance fighter, and Evangeline is the most beautiful woman in Cuba the daughter of a revolutionary.  These women are all fighting in a time when women are not allowed to have any autonomy.

Oh my heart. The Most Beautiful Girl in Cuba hit me right in the feels. RIGHT IN THE FEELS. Chanel Cleeton eloquently writes three different stories of three independently strong revolutionary women caught in the fight for Cuban independence right before the Spanish-American war.

I was instantaneously hooked. I could not put the book down. I became OBSESSED. All three stories were just so equally compelling for different reasons; however, Grace's story may have been my favorite.

The Most Beautiful Girl in Cuba is a love story of all kinds of love: love for country, romantic love, motherly love, family love. It's simply exquisite.

Disappointed, had heard incredible review of this book based on Evangelina Cisneros. The story dragged in parts and the voice of the three female characters was too similar even though one was a American female reporter, one the daughter of a revolutionary and one the daughter disinherited when she married below her class.

Really enjoyed this story. Highlighted the experiences of women during the war in Cuba.
