This was a enjoyable read. I wouldn’t say it was as great as Next Year in Havana or When We Left Cuba, but still a great read. I did feel like the middle of the novel was a slower pace then I expected, but liked the multiple perspectives each character brought to the story. The author did a great job with the setting of this book and transporting the reader back and forth between the characters’ lives.

Another stunning story by Chanel Cleeton! I absolutely love her writing and her characters and her way of championing strong yet gentle women. She maintains the beauty of what it meant to be a “lady” while giving them the strength that changed the world.
