Flight paramedic Raina Price has been running from her past for 14 years, and when it finally catches up to her, she realizes it’s about time to let someone in to know the real her. To U.S. Marshal Vincent Covelli, Raina is a beautiful mystery, and when he watches her nearly be killed, he’s determined to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Together, they have to fight off danger from every side so that the man who once hurt Raina will never hurt her again.

Countdown is the fourth and final book in the Extreme Measures series. Each book focuses on one of four friends, so while you'll see a few familiar characters mentioned, I do think this could be read just fine on its own without any confusion as well. Either way, it's a great series overall and certainly worth checking out anyway.

Every time I pick up a book by Lynette Eason, I know one thing for certain: I am in for quite an adventure. Countdown absolutely was no exception. Right from the very beginning, I was drawn into this story... and that didn't let up at all throughout the story. We are given several different perspectives throughout the story, which has us feeling like we've got most of it figured out... but there were many twists and turns that kept things interesting. There were definitely a few moments I did not see coming. If you're looking for a fast-past suspense read that will keep you turning the pages, this will certainly do just that. It was combined wonderfully with some romance and great faith elements as well. And that epilogue? Oh, I just adored it!

Overall, I thought this was a great read and one that fans of Christian suspense are sure to want to check out for themselves.

**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All opinions are my own.

Do you want to know how engrossed I was in this book?  I have the paperback, but I didn’t want to disturb my toddler’s nap by turning on the lamp, so I downloaded the ebook from my library so I could keep reading on my phone while she slept.  That’s how addicting I found this story.  You have been warned.  If you choose to read this book, you may find late nights and “just one more chapter” appearing before you know it!  Or, you know, having both the ebook and paperback available, so you can keep reading, even when the light would bother a family member.
Countdown is the fourth (and I believe final) book in the Extreme Measures series.  You don’t have to read the previous books in the series, though I found it made the relationships between the friends more meaningful.  Plus, you get to know Raina just a bit from the other books, so I was very curious to read her story.
Obviously, I found this story to be very fast-paced, with a lot of moving pieces, some that kept me guessing and some that seemed a little obvious, but still useful for the plot.  I quite enjoyed the suspense and I really liked Raina and Vincent. I will say that because a bit of their relationship happened off page (they’ve known each other since book 1), I did sometimes find that the romance seemed a little rushed, though the timeline for this story happens very quickly, as well.  Despite that, I did enjoy the romance side of the story.
Overall, if you’re a fan of fast-paced romantic suspense, then I would definitely highly recommend this book (and the rest of the series)!
*My thanks to the publisher for my copy of this book!  I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way.  All opinions expressed are my own.

This was so fast paced the book flew by! I loved Raina. She is so strong and basically fearless. I loved how she made some incredibly hard decisions and never looked back. Vince was great too. Super patient and protective.

This book was a great mix of action, adventure, and mystery. I did figure a lot of it out along the way but it didn't take away from enjoying the book.

No spoilers but I really appreciated how this book wrapped up.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.
