I read this play for a play analysis class. Although it wasn't my favorite to read from our semester line-up, it was definitely very interesting to analyze. There are many elements regarding characters and themes that were fun to think about and discuss. If I choose to read Joe Turner again, I would rather listen to a staged reading (which luckily exists!) in order to further capture the character's qualities.
