Oh Romeo, Romeo, where are you, Romeo?
- Probably fucking my wife because I'm pretty sure that's all they did the whole book even though he was so adamant about having little spawns.

Anyway, this book was... interesting. Did I like it? Not really. Did I hate it? Not really. Did I feel like killing the characters sometimes? Yes, for sure. Nevertheless, it was exciting enough that I kept coming back for more and went to see if there was a sequel.

So, if you're like me and you're reading reviews trying to decide if you should read this book. Definitely give it a try because if it is for you, you'll know it right from the very first chapter, which is something that I really appreciate in a book, when it gets right to the point.

"potential trigger warnings: Discussion of SIDS a few times. Discussion of childhood neglect/abuse"

here's the thing with one of the authors, her books are always well-written, and i read them religiously. i love her characters and the storyline. it makes me giddy just from reading the blurb. her characters always have filthy mouths on them, and they have fantastic banter. and not to mention the female rage. but i've read a lot of readers complain about this author and how problematic she is, and i will not be the type of reader who would support someone who whitewashes and plagiarize. the other author among the pair? idk much about her but i read one of her books and it was good.

okay now for the book! it broke me from a reading slump and i devoured this one like dallas devoured her pastries. at first, i thought it would be a historical romance given how the book started but then there's a plethora of pop culture references. i love how dallas was written, how bubbly she is, and how she could make or break romeo's reputation with her smart mouth. she's my girl. call her lazy all you want. but there is a dallas in all of us.

now enter romeo. our grumpy mmc who is not fond of sex in fear of getting someone pregnant. i can confidently say that he's all bark and no bite because dallas was his weakness even from the beginning. he could not, for the life of him, say no to that woman.

it was kind of off and seemed out of nowhere when dallas said "you are my favorite plot twist" it's such a gen z thing to say, and did not fit with the entire dialogue at all. i mean we were all expecting that. it was not a plot twist at all. i believe i just developed an ick right there.

i liked that it was pointed out that dallas was not a cryer, and that she never really cried her entire life. i actually believe that romeo would do something so painful to her that she would cry. ugh! i wish it happened like that. i wish that there was an entire trauma dump, female rage, and vase-throwing tantrum from her that would eat up a guilty romeo. i even remember saying to myself, "istg if she cries out of happiness, this would not get 3 stars." and here we are. SPOILER ALERT, she did not cry out of anger and frustration. the sick scene was cute tho.

romeo's other came out of nowhere tho.

anyways, would they be forever endgame? i mean, romeo is what? 31? and dallas is what? 21? cmon. her frontal lobe is not yet developed.

im just scared for oliver's story with the age difference. i hope there'd be MAJOR time jump for that.
