When I started this book, I thought it was going to be a horror book. It’s thrilling, but not scary. This story had me questioning everything. Ward wrote beautifully & kept me on my toes, while bringing light to a topic that is often misunderstood. I loved it!

The novel lulls you into an assured state and then rips the blindfold off in such a way that makes you angry at all the half-truth conclusions you filled in while reading.

I speak without knowing, but after finishing I thought it was a really good representation of the DID.

wow, i'm not even sure where to start. i set high expectations for this book before id even started it and so i was sad to find myself somewhat disappointed in the first half of the story - this was fuelled in part by the fact that i felt id already sussed the 'twist' of Lauren/Olivia not existing in corporeal forms and my prior knowledge of DID definitely informed my understanding of what was happening with the protagonist, which in turn left me with the feeling that id ruined my own surprise party. furthermore, i was struggling to fully savour the writing style which felt too jarring for me to really settle into and enjoy the book.

it turned out that the unsettling and enigmatic nature of the book's journey is what provides it's unique appeal and and once more comfortable with ward's writing style, i found myself enjoying being kept on my toes. in fact, despite feeling as though i had initially ruined the big plot reveal for myself, i both enjoyed and was surprised by further revelations that came towards the end of the story and on the whole, i'm glad that i managed to warm to the last house on needless street by the time i finished it.
