A fun read—Jasmine & Ivan were a enjoyable couple to go on a journey with.

That being said, I do feel like not all plot points were brought together (like all the little things hinted at throughout the story, and then the reveal was anticlimactic), and was disappointed that fatphobia was so casually brought up through the story. I feel like for focusing on the slow burn for so long, the author really didn’t get the the actual depth of Ivan and Jasmine’s relationship  which was also a letdown. A novel with a good idea not fully actualized and sometimes flat characters who depended on empty plot points or cliches to further the story.

If it weren't for the sometimes very cringe language that Jasmine, supposedly a 26 year old, uses, then it would have been 5 stars. I enjoyed this book so much more than I thought I would, I truly loved it.
Zapata couldv'e simply said "cute" instead of "the c-word", would've made the book much better.

Whilst I enjoyed the book over all (I mean it's an ice skating romance with an enemies to lovers trope, what's not to love), I don't think I would like to be friends with either of the main characters. Same goes for some of the other bigger characters, the exception being the siblings of Jasmine. Would I recommend this book to a friend? Are you into winter sports? Then yes. If not? Meh!

Extremely slow, which I know is Zapata's style but this one was hard to get into I almost gave up. Least favorite of her books so far. It's hard to live in the main character's head because she can be very unlikeable, but that's part of her character and she acknowledges it. I wish there was more character development on her end, but the character development for the love interest, Lukov, was great.  <spolier>I was very dissapointed that Jasmine couldn't even give Lukov a proper "I love you too" or even just "I love you", instead of a rushed "Love ya" in the middle of sex...anticlimactic.

A true slow burn, but I liked wall of Winnipeg more

Fatphobic and immature but still fairly entertaining!
