Loved FlatShare and have enjoyed others by this author but the plot of this is too far fetched and unbelievable for me. Maybe if I didn’t know a bit about boats, sailing on the east coast of the UK etc it would be more believable and I might have feared for their safety etc but I was just rolling my eyes.

Swept Away felt truly unique  in setting up its romantic story, something Beth O’Leary seems to thrive in (see also: The Flat-Share).  And while I did enjoy this story for what it was, the pacing felt a bit off.  On more than one occasion I felt myself asking “how can this audiobook still have XX number of hours left??”

Not my absolute favorite, but definitely a new take on the genre!

Super brave of Beth O'Leary to attempt a romance on this scale, with literal life or death stakes and I think it mostly works! You really do feel the precariousness of the situation alongside the forced proximity and to me it came together really well. It was also nice to see a reverse age gap done in this way, especially with a premise like this.
