I like the story and the main character, but there is an uncomfortable amount of rape in this book/series.

Really loving what this author has done with the series. At first, I was not a big fan of the whole Krasian outlook on things. The wording of roles like Damajating, Shardama Ka, etc was a little laborious, but it was worth toughing through it (even though I still don't get some of the roles). However, the author continues to pleasantly surprise with the action, character development and plot. So 100% a solid read in my opinion.

The beginning was a bit too much and not needed. If you can push through the first section it gets really good.

People are still killing demons, but I found this book much more interesting than the first. The story becomes a bit more complicated and all the characters more developed.

During the second read I noticed that the descriptions left me wanting a little bit more, and while the story is interesting and keeps you reading the descriptions of some of the events is sparse.

Ugh, terrible, misogynistic, racist, and goes nowhere.

This was like the Rogue One of the Demon Cycle. It filled in great backstory and made me care about things I didn't think I would.
I really enjoy the evolving world.

Fantastic, tight plotting moves at a good pace! Loved seeing more POV characters.
