Probably more of a 3.5, because it definitely kept me guessing and wanting to read more until the end, but parts were annoying (calling him The Corner over and over and repeatedly correcting herself became grating) and much of the flashback parts seemed unnecessary.

I can’t think of anything more SCARY than this story. The suspense was often uncomfortable at times and the narrators desperation seemingly dripped from the pages. A powerful conversation about a woman’s role and their credibility through trauma. Wow. I loved it!

A watcher or not, a woman gaslighted into thinking the intruder was not there. Until, she remembers a Camara in the woods. Great story and at times, I blamed the mother too!

I had hopes for this book but unfortunately they did not prove true. The characters were either too stereotypical, too “victimized” or just too unrealistic. Two stars for an interesting premise…too bad the author chose to make the main character a sniveling, weak woman who can’t even stand up for herself.
