Seriously, as time goes on, this series deals death blows to itself over and over again. Not only is the writing seriously lacking, but the insane amount of pop culture references make this a book soon to be outdated and not stand the test of time.

P.C. and Kristin Cast.. stop whoring yourself out to lame-ass pop culture and start writing decent fiction! No one cares that you are fans of True Blood or that you want them to acknowledge your existence.

Seriously, Zoey Redbird has become the perfect special snowflake Mary Sue and I am honestly tired of reading this crap. I am also getting sick and tired of nothing happening in these books until the last three chapters, when exciting shit happens and then "OMG cliffhanger!" There are better ways to write this story.

The only up points to this book were reading about Kalona turning a new leaf (sort of), Aurox being introduced (more or less) and Rephaim being himself. Everything else was just filler.. as per usual Cast style.

I have to say that this book was a huge disappointment for me. While I was reading, I kept waiting and wondering when something was actually going to happen. All that hype and they spend the entire book chit chatting, bickering about the past, and self reflecting, ugh.Eventually, in the last few chapters something FINALY happens.I sincerely hope that the next book has a little more excitement, because this one was a huge let down.

Our characters are integrating themselves back into a snoewhat normal school schedule. Things are being played despite the normal facade that seems to be shown to the public.
Eric as a Tracker has just marked his first vampyre fledgling and it didn't quite turn out like one would expect adding an element of mystery to this installment in the House of Night series.
We see rifts start to take place in our cast of characters and are left wondering how things will turn out for them. A lot of drama is happening.
The ending is very quick and action packed as the last few books have been.  Left on a rather good cliffhanger that has me coming back to the story that has been woven

Took me a little bit to read this one but one only has so much time. Good book but I'm totally team Stark. I don't want Aurox/Heath to get in the way. I'm OK with BFF but why would you do this. uggghhh.

DID NOT FINISH

Ugh could not finish this!!!!! This series was so good at first but then fizzled out.

More like 3.5*. With this latest book the series is definitely back on up up swing. I still cannot stand Zoey and Stark (really, they can have sex but she still says bullpoopie?), but I absolutely ADORE Rephiam and Stevie Rae and where their story is going. I could've used more Aphrodite in this book, since she usually has the best lines, but I was glad that she was back to being a prophetess and not just comic relief. I like that Shawnee and Erin are not sharing a brain anymore. Well, it's not that I minded them sharing a brain, but they were just one person for so long which it what bothered me. I like Shawnee by herself, but cannot stand how shallow Erin is. I was really sad about what happened to Dragon, but glad that he redeemed himself in the end. Horray for the return of Heath! I know Zoey is the only person who knows that he's back, but he's back and that's all that matters! Plus, he was trying to do the right thing, which definitely counts for something, especially since he wouldn't have done anything if Darkness hadn't made him. And FINALLY someone sees Neferet for what she really is! I am actually excited about this series again.

I have to say, this series has started out funny and amazing, but as the series go on, I starts to become weary. The books in the middle of the series are just terrible, totally lost why Zoey should be trusted but her friends keep on trusting her anyway. Yes, everyone make the wrong choices, but I found that those books in the middle had lost its soul. Luckily, these later books are much more better, although, this is the ninth book. Hello? Neferet hasn't die! Yes, this is a good book, but I cannot help but feel that this seiries has been dragged for tooooo long. So, sorry, PC Cast, I am your ultimate fan, but I cannot give full star for this one, unless you manage to wow me in the next book.

Some people say this series is getting old. Wrongo... the battle is just beginning and in other words I adored this book. I have been with zoey and her vampyre crew from the beginning and I am with her to the end of the most fantabulous series and terrific book. I meant come one, P.C. and Kristin Cast are so generous! They just keep giving amazing books, and this one lived up the the rest. In fact I only have one bone to pick with them. Cliffhangers and whole years between new books... not a good combo.

This book was better than all of it predecessors. Stunning, I think is the correct use of words. The casts have mastered the art of twists and turns cause this plot is chaotic! It keeps you hooked and engaged at all times. They casts have entwined the magical world of vampyres and the house of night with a darker gothic side to the ParaNormance genre and made this spectacular novel. I am particularly fond of Shaylin this time round and can not wait to see what she has in store for us all.

The writing in these books is so lovely to read because it changes from character to character which only gives a deeper understanding to them. The dialogue is absolutely brilliant. Not Many teen authors are brave enough to use the type of dialogue that casts do but i love it! Nothing wrong with a little dirty talk or cussing, right?

The characters are pretty much the same with the exception of one or two new characters or a minor character becoming a major (thanatos) but otherwise pretty much the same. The favorite character still stands as Zoey and Stevie Rae, who would rock a lesbian imprint and cause a lot of tension between heath/aurox, nefret, kalona, rephiam and stark so that would be pretty cool.

I really did love this novel so so so much and you know, I can not wait a year for Hidden.
